Chinese Export Four-Panel Carved Soapstone Coromandel Screen

Stunning 20th century Chinese export four-panel lacquered Coromandel screen featuring hand carved soapstone beauties in a floral, pagoda landscape. The highly decorative screen has recessed borders which showcase intricate mother of pearl inlay and gilt highlights on the gloss black lacquer finish. Each panel is 16 inches wide with hardware to attach together. Supported by brass-clad feet. The reverse side is decorated with gilt painted windows of birds and flowers.
